Susan Dreyfus, BA, Susan Dreyfus Consulting Course Description: Susan Dreyfus will present and engage the audience on why she is the most hopeful she has been in her 30-plus year career that the decade of the 2020s can be a field and social sector moment in America. As she reflects on pre-pandemic and post-pandemic national trends and issues, she will present on the eight acceler- ants she has seen across the country in highly differentiated and influential social sector behavioral health and social services organizations. Dreyfus will provide hope and optimism for the fu- ture while challenging organizations and NJAMHAA to think, plan and act at a more generative and adaptive level of change, impact and influence. Dreyfus will share a future strategy as the field and NJAMHAA embark on the next chapter to ensure excellence, influence, growth and sustainability. Past and current traumas have placed an enor- mous strain on individuals, caregivers and the healthcare system. This has led to a substantial decline in mental and physical well- being for not only older adults, but also those who provide care. This workshop will feature a community-based model that is centered on innovative technology. Case studies, lessons learned, promising practices, and sustainability will also be highlighted in an effort to facilitate discussion regarding creative technological solutions for the psychosocial needs of older adults in a post- COVID world. Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to : 1. Classify how COVID has resulted in trauma symptoms in the older adult population. 2. Define the role that social isolation/loneliness play on older adults’ quality of life and trauma care. 3. Identify at least three practical tools for reducing social isolation. 4. Identify at least three methods for instituting creative tech- nological approaches in an organization.
