COURSE DESCRIPTION: Research shows it can take up to 17 years for the most effective evidence-based treatments for mental health and substance use disorders to become standard practice in clinical settings. Digital health technologies—including electronic health records, mobile apps, and wearable devices—can significantly accelerate this timeline by addressing key barriers such as limited clinician time, excessive documentation, lack of resources, and difficulty accessing up-to-date clinical guidelines. Among these technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a powerful tool to enhance the implementation of evidence- based interventions. However, the rapid evolution of AI can also be overwhelming for clinicians and organizations navigating this space. This session will explore current AI tools relevant to behavioral health, highlight their potential to support evidence-based care, and provide strategies for clinicians to intentionally select and integrate these tools into their practices in a thoughtful and effective manner. Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to: 1. Identify current AI tools that support the implementation of evidence- based interventions in mental health and substance use treatment. 2. Explain effective strategies for evaluating and selecting AI tools aligned with clinical goals and workflow. 3. Integrate appropriate AI tools to enhance the delivery and uptake of evidence-based practices in real-world clinical settings.
