Chuck Ingoglia, MSW President and CEO National Council for Mental Wellbeing TARGET AUDIENCE: Mental Health Professionals AUDIENCE TARGET LEVELS: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced COURSE DESCRIPTION: Chuck Ingoglia will provide an overview of the national behavioral health landscape, highlighting recent changes within federal agencies related to oversight, implementation, and funding authority. The session will examine significant Medicaid policy changes and emerging threats to other behavioral health funding sources, and how these shifts are impacting both providers and individuals seeking services. Ingoglia will discuss where the field currently stands, outline recent developments, and explore what may be expected in the coming months. Advocacy efforts and system- level approaches related to the workforce, telehealth, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, crisis services, and other key areas will also be addressed. As the field continues to adapt and implement new models of care amid ongoing workforce shortages, this session will underscore the importance of staying informed to effectively prepare for future challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to: 1. List several impacts of the provisions in H.R. 1 and other federal budgetary and policy changes on states and individuals. 2. Describe the outlook for the behavioral healthcare workforce, including key challenges and emerging trends. 3.
