6 Transformational Leadership with Powerful Results The many powerful results of NJAMHAA’s leadership in FY2024 truly have been transformational. The funding increases, initial steps taken toward a statewide Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, policy changes and signed legislation, such as the extension of parity reimbursement for telehealth services, are just a few highlights of the impactful successes of this past year. While NJAMHAA continues to advocate for rates and contracts that cover the full cost of providing care, including the ability to offer competitive wages to ensure a strong, stable workforce, NJAMHAA is also working to take advantage of the opportunities and meet the challenges on the horizon. The growth of integrated care, crisis systems and other services filling gaps in the continuum of care provide an avenue for shaping the landscape of behavioral health care in New Jersey while the carve-in of behavioral health services into Medicaid managed care presents many challenges for providers that NJAMHAA aims to mitigate and overcome with thoughtful input and advocacy.
