NJAMHAA Annual Report FY 2025 31 NJAMHAA has maintained strategic partnerships with numerous state and national entities for many years and continually seeks new opportunities for collaboration. Through these relationships, NJAMHAA has built on the impact of its advocacy, which has consistently resulted in not only sustained funding, but also increases even in difficult fiscal times, and supportive legislation and regulations that help expand access to treatment and support services. NJAMHAA’s extensive partnerships currently include memberships in 66 state organizations, companies, committees and advisory groups, and 19 regional, national and international organizations. Notable examples include: State Regional Alliance for the Betterment for Citizens with Disabilities Alliance for Strong Families and Communities American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy of New Jersey Arc of New Jersey Advocates for Children of New Jersey Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence-New Jersey Autism New Jersey Disability Rights New Jersey Employers Association of New Jersey Governor’s Council on Substance Use Disorder (formerly Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse) Human Services Equity Coalition Mental Health Association in New Jersey Mental Health Coalition National Association of Social Workers – New Jersey N ational Institute on Drug Abuse’s Clinical Trials Network – New York Steering Committee N ortheast-Caribbean Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network NJAMHAA’s Impact Grows Even More through Memberships and other Strategic Alliances New Jersey Business and Industry Association New Jersey Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services’ (DMAHS’) Medical Assistance Advisory Council New Jersey Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma: NJAMHAA President and CEO Debra L. Wentz, PhD, has served on this Council since its inception and was appointed Chair in 2021. New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ (DMHAS’) Addictions Professional Advisory Council: NJAMHAA staff has been attending this group’s meetings as guests for years, and Dr. Wentz was appointed in 2023. NJ DMHAS’ Behavioral Health Planning Council NJ DMAHS’ Integrated Behavioral Health Advisory Hub New Jersey Opioid Recovery and Remediation Advisory Council – Dr. Wentz was appointed to serve on this council. New Jersey Youth Suicide Prevention Advisory Council– Shauna Moses was appointed to serve on this council .
