NJAMHAA FY2022 Annual Report

15 The impact of NJAMHAA’s advocacy and members’ services was even more evident when Advance Media, which owns the Star-Ledger and Times of Trenton, offered to run a full-page ad for free on the back page of a section on COVID resources in both newspapers on January 30, 2022. While increasing its visibility in traditional media, NJAMHAA also has an active presence on social media. Through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter, NJAMHAA shares its advocacy messages and facts about mental illnesses and substance use disorders, and promotes its conferences and association news. A total of 651 posts in FY2022 (as of June 8, 2022) garnered 1,381 likes and reposts on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn combined. In addition, there were 10,550 visits to NJAMHAA’s Twitter page. NJAMHAA is steadily increasing the numbers of followers. Notably, between February 17 and June 6, 2022, NJAMHAA gained 166 new followers across the four platforms. NJAMHAA also uses a web-based tool called Constant Contact to send the tri-weekly Newswire to members, and to promote events and extend its advocacy reach throughout and beyond the membership.
