NJAMHAA-FY23-Annual-Report

25 NJAMHAA Annual Report FY 2023 Information Technology Project Practice Groups Billing Supervisors Practice Group Co-Chairs: Candice Moore Electronic Health Record and Billing Compliance Director, Cumberland County Guidance Center Judy Rios Accountant and Senior Director, Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties The Billing Supervisors Practice Group has been focused on preparing for the 1115 Waiver approval and working with managed care organizations (MCOs). Most agencies, if not all, are concerned with the current turnaround time for payments from MCOs for the current plans that cover outpatient, partial care and residential programs. Sherry Marchand, CPMA, Chief Executive Officer, Founder and Senior Consultant, Core Consulting Solutions LLC, a member of NJAMHAA’s Technology Council, provided tools to assist agencies with organizing information as needed when applying for enrollment into MCOs’ networks and updating their information for MCOs. The Billing Supervisors Practice Group goes beyond tackling new issues and changes taking place in the behavioral healthcare system. The members also assist each other with denials, coding questions and credentialing as needed via a very active listserv. Billing Supervisors Practice Group and Others Pay Tribute to Founding Member Michele Rowe “All of us at NJAMHAA were devastated to hear the tragic and sad news about Michele’s passing in August. We deeply mourn the loss of Michele as she was a very compassionate and dedicated individual. We are grateful to have gotten to know her well through her many years of dedication and leadership on our Information Technology Project’s Billing Supervisors Practice Group,” said Debra L. Wentz, PhD, President and CEO of NJAMHAA, about Michele Rowe, who co-founded this group in 1994, chaired it for several years and served as Director of South Jersey Behavioral Health Resources’ Billing Department. “Michele was always very active, helping the group and individual members with billing issues. She developed close contacts with state, Medicare, Medicaid and third-party billing representatives to help the group get answers to questions, resolve problems and update representatives on how certain billing requirements would affect agencies. She always had a positive attitude and she is greatly missed,” said Ron Gordon, Director of the IT Project and NJAMHAA’s staff liaison for this group. Long time group co-chair Judy Rios, Accountant and Senior Director, Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties, commented, “Michele always went above and beyond to help others. Her success was everyone’s success. She supported the Billing User Group for 26 years. We miss her dearly. She was one of a kind. Rest in peace, my friend.”
