32 Breaking Barriers in Behavioral Health Care The IT Project conference was well-attended and featured two keynote addresses. The first was delivered by Michael Geraghty, the State of New Jersey’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Director of the NJ Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC). Mr. Geraghty’s keynote address gave everyone pause to think about the new world of cybercrime where anyone can fall victim. For the second keynote, Armen C. Arevian, MD, PhD, Founder and CEO of Chorus Innovations, gave a thoughtful address on partner and consumer engagement and how important it is to get all parties involved when implementing technological solutions to novel problems. In addition to a host of inspiring and tech savvy workshops, the conference featured a plenary address with Jennifer D’Angelo, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Healthcare Division, New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), and Herminio Navia, Director, Medicaid Enterprise Systems Program, DMAHS, New Jersey Department of Human Services. They covered the ins and outs of New Jersey’s interoperability platform and why it is important to participate, and noted that new funding opportunities for behavioral healthcare providers to participate in new milestone programs will become available in the upcoming fiscal year. Earlier in the fiscal year, NJAMHAA presented virtual conferences: the annual Suicide Prevention Conference with Attitudes In Reverse ® , Back to School: Listening to the Kids , on August 25, 2022; the Fall Conference, Opportunity Meets Innovation: Behavioral Health Today and Tomorrow , on September 22, 2022; and the Integrated Case Management Services Conference, The Way Forward , on November 17, 2022.
