6 October 2021 Wellness Training and Learning Collaborative (W-TLC) Overview The Rutgers Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies Wellness in Recovery program was funded to develop a Wellness Training and Learning Collaborative (W-TLC) to support the wellness of the behavioral healthcare workforce. Through this project, the W-TLC Project Team will co-create: • an online repository of resources (the W-TLC Virtual Toolbox) via the Rutgers CAS website • a learning collaborative to empower the behavioral healthcare workforce to support one another to learn and apply organizational- and individual-level wellness strategies The workforce has been directly experiencing the consequences of the pandemic, bearing the brunt of psychological, emotional, and physical effects firsthand. The wellbeing of this critical segment of the healthcare workforce is of paramount priority, considering the high rates of burnout and turnover. It is evident that, to build a resilient workforce, occupational and environmental factors must be addressed, and organizational- and individual-level self-care strategies need to be promoted across organizations that employ behavioral healthcare workers. The W-TLC is designed to fill a gap in worker supports to provide the behavioral health workforce with opportunities for engagement, education, and training related to personal and workplace wellness, self-care, and peer support.
