Today, we are finally seeing a shift—one that behavioral health has long understood: true well-being begins with the individual, their community, and what matters most to them. Amid a growing crisis in health care—marked by poor outcomes, unsustainable costs, clinician burnout, and fragmentation—we are presented with a powerful opportunity to re-envision the system. This session will explore a future in which behavioral health plays a central role in overall well-being. Together, we will examine how we can drive meaningful change—by redefining the purpose of health care, rethinking our approach, and returning the locus of control to the individual. At the heart of this transformation is the recognition that we must also care for ourselves. Cultivating a compassionate, effective, and sustainable health system begins with prioritizing the well-being of both providers and those we serve. Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to: 1. Explain the fundamental role that behavioral health plays in overall well-being. 2. Identify the current opportunities to re-envision and transform the healthcare system in response to today’s challenges. 3. Define the core elements of a Whole Health System of Care, with a focus on shifting the system’s purpose, approach, and locus of control. 4. Discuss the critical importance of addressing provider well-being alongside the well-being of those we serve.
