This course is designed to increase understanding of the impact of persistent symptoms, such as psychosis, on daily functioning. These symptoms can affect individuals’ ability to maintain meaningful relationships, sustain employment, manage daily living activities, and address serious physical health conditions. Tragically, these challenges can also lead to premature death. This session provides strategies for engaging individuals in the recovery process and symptom management, emphasizing emotional support, understanding, and improving quality of life. Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, attendees will be able to: 1. Identify serious symptoms such as hallucinations (including command type), delusions, and paranoia. 2. Therapeutically interact with clients experiencing symptoms of psychosis. 3. Engage individuals in developing recovery goals that foster a higher quality of life. 4. Ensure safety in clinical situations.
