27 NJAMHAA Annual Report FY 2024 The LSIC members are pharmaceutical and life sciences companies and other related organizations. They meet regularly with service providers and staff from DMAHS and DMHAS to share and gain valuable information that contributes to their individual and collaborative initiatives to increase access to all healthcare treatment and services. Nearly every meeting features an informative presentation. Examples from FY2024 are The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: The Legislative, Regulatory and Political Landscape in New Jersey , by Mary Kay Roberts, Partner, Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP; Diagnosis of Dementia in Patients with Schizophrenia and Challenges Researching Efficacy of Medications by Tobias Gerhard, BSPharm, PhD, FISPE, Founding Director, Rutgers Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science; Director, Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research; and Professor, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy; and Drug Costs and Access via State and Federal Policies by Dean Paranicas, JD, CEO and President, HealthCare Institute of New Jersey. In addition, Robert Eilers, MD, MPH, Medical Director, DMHAS, provided an overview of DMHAS initiatives and Shanique McGowan, Behavioral Health Program Manager, DMAHS, discussed the 1115 Waiver and the upcoming implementation of the carve-in of many more behavioral healthcare services.
