NJAMHAA Annual Report FY 2025 33 Conferences andWebinars Aim to Strengthen the Behavioral Health System andWorkforce In FY2025, NJAMHAA hosted four in-person conferences, two of which offered virtual participation as an option. The in-person Fall Conference, Innovate, Integrate & Illuminate , featured Kenneth S. Thompson, MD, Medical Director, Pennsylvania Psychiatric Leadership Council, as the keynote. In his presentation, Innovative Approaches for Expanding Access to Mental Health Services and Supports, he described examples of effective innovations in a range of service and policy areas. For the plenary session, leaders from the New Jersey Department of Human Services highlighted many examples of the effectiveness of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) and plans to expand this model statewide. On November 8, 2024, NJAMHAA and its Integrated Case Management Services (ICMS) Practice Group hosted a hybrid conference, Navigating Change . Highlights were a keynote presentation in which Stephanie Marcello, PhD, Assistant Vice President of Academics, Integration and Innovation, Behavioral Research and Training Institute and Chief Psychologist, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, shared strategies for creating safe and healing environments, and reinforced the importance of self-care and self- compassion. This event also featured presentation of Case Manager of the Year Awards, which adds to the morale-boosting value of the conference.
