26 N JAMHAA holds several conferences each year to support and enhance knowledge throughout the mental health, substance use, intellectual/ developmental disabilities and greater community; and to maximize clinicians’ effectiveness. For exam - ple, topics include the use of evidence-based practic - es and telehealth, and strategies for increasing staff recruitment and retention and achieving many other goals — particularly those related to expanding and reinforcing a diverse workforce and ensuring equitable access to the critical services they offer. Of particular focus in more recent years are overcom - ing new challenges imposed by the pandemic and preparing for the carve-in of services into Medicaid Managed Care.
