Conferences The first conference of the fiscal year was the ninth annual suicide prevention conference that NJAMHAA presents in partnership with Integrated Healthcare Council member Attitudes In Reverse. This year’s event, Back to School: Breaking the Barriers , was co-sponsored by Hackensack Meridian Carrier Clinic, the New Jersey chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Society for the Pre - vention of Teen Suicide. The conference featured a presentation on building diversity and acceptance, and a panel discussion on overcoming stigma. In October, NJAMHAA hosted its Fall Conference, No Going Back: Moving Forward in a New Paradigm, which was sponsored by Mutual of America Financial Group. This event featured a keynote presentation, The Decade of 2020: This Is our Moment!, by Susan Dreyfus, BA, Susan Dreyfus Consulting, and a plena - ry session, A Forward Look at Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment and Supports in New Jersey , by Re- nee Burawski, LCSW, Deputy Assis - tant Commissioner, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. In response to tremendous interest by Integrated Case Management Services (ICMS) providers, NJAMHAA and the New Jersey Association of Integrated Case Management held the first ICMS conference in many years, Delivering Hope Post-Pandemic, in November. Carol Kivler, MS, CSP, a motivational speaker, training consultant, author and President of Kivler Communications, delivered an inspiring keynote presentation, Maximize your Greatest Wealth…Invest in Mental Health, and ICMS Case Manager Awards were presented to individuals from all New Jersey counties. NJAMHAA’s Spring Conference, Nurturing Diverse Communities, was held in April and sponsored by Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The keynote presentation, Dismantling Stigma: Addiction, Treatment and Policy, was delivered by John Kelly, PhD, ABPP, Elizabeth R. Spallin Professor of Psychiatry in Addiction Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Founder of the Recovery Research Institute. For the plenary session, Charles Ingoglia, MSW, President & CEO of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, presented on the National Behavioral Health Landscape: Where We Are and Where We Are Going. The year will wrap up with the Information Technology (IT) Project’s conference on June 22 nd . This event, sponsored by Telarus, will be a Technology Thought Leadership Forum, featuring a keynote presentation, Cybersecurity and Data Protection in Healthcare, by Jason Stein, Vice President of Cybersecurity, and Jeff Hathcote, Solutions Architect, both from Telarus. In the afternoon, vendors of electronic health records systems will give demonstrations of their products. Webinars While planning and presenting these large events, NJAMHAA has continued to develop many webinars to meet mem- bers’ immedi- ate needs for education and skill building in response to the ev- er-changing external environment, including traumatic in- cidents, state and federal legislation, policies and regulations. The most pressing current need of NJAMHAA members is training that enables providers and stakeholders to prepare for Medicaid Managed Care, and NJAMHAA is being proactive in meeting this demand. To date, NJAMHAA hosted two webinars: Moving to Managed Care, which served as an introduction to managed care for many members and a refresher for others. This exception - ally well-attended webinar was presented by Ann Clemency Kohler, MCRP, Former Deputy Commis - sioner, New Jersey Department of Human Services and Former Director, New Jersey Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services. The series continued with Preparing for Managed Care and Value-Based Payments: Implications for Service Delivery & Reve- nue Cycle Management, which was presented by Don
