The Spring Conference, Advancing Opportunities, Improving Lives , in April began with a keynote presentation, The Future of Behavioral Health and System Transformation , by Benjamin F. Miller, PsyD, Adjunct Faculty and Advisory Board Chair, Stanford School of Medicine. For the plenary session, Charles Ingoglia, MSW, President and CEO, National Council for Mental Wellbeing, presented on the national landscape of behavioral health. On the second day, Gary Small, MD, Professor and Chair, Hackensack University Medical Center, delivered the keynote presentation, Strategies for Supporting Brain Health at All Ages . The plenary session focused on the carve-in of behavioral healthcare services to Medicaid managed care. Wardell Sanders, Esq., President, New Jersey Association of Health Plans, moderated the discussion with state leadership and representatives from managed care organizations (MCOs). Both state leaders on the panel — Jennifer Langer Jacobs, MPC, Assistant Commissioner, DMAHS, and Renee Burawski, LCSW, Deputy Assistant Commissioner, DMHAS — and the MCO representatives advised attendees to work with NJAMHAA. Improving Lives NJAMHAA’s Spring Conference 2024 Dr. Miller delivered the Day 1 keynote presentation. Charles Ingoglia discussed the national landscape. DHS Leaders discussed the carve-in. Dr. Small shared brain health tips.
